O Heraldo, founded on April 21, 1900, by Aleixo Clemente Messias Gomes, began as the first daily Portuguese newspaper in Goa. After a decade in Lisbon, Messias Gomes returned in 1919 to expand and modernize the publication. In 1983, O Heraldo transitioned to an English-language daily, becoming Goa’s oldest newspaper and a trusted source of news and information
